DAMPAK PENGELUARAN WISATAWAN TERHADAP PEREKONOMIAN MAKRO
PADA NEGARA PENERIMA KUNJUNGAN WISATAWAN MANCANEGARA

Abstract
 
The impact of tourism from economic viewpoint is not only preponderant in relation to other aspects such as sociological, cultural and psychological but also a convenient common denominator. The reason behind it is that most countries tend to asses the importance of a place and relate it to tourism with reference to its economic return, the effect of its return to the nation’s balance of payment and relationship between total tourist receipts and the national income. The main economic effects of tourism at macro level could be considered from two angles. Firstly, from the direct effect that tourism usually has on the economy, which includes its effect on the balance of payments; employment and the redistribution of income. Secondly, the induced effects on the market for certain products; on the government sector (taxes); as well as its ‘imitation’ effect on the community.
 
PENGARUH FAMILY STRUCTURE DALAM PENGAMBILAN KEPUTUSAN  MAKAN

Abstract
 
In decision making process to buy product or service, an understanding of family structure is an important factor for marketers.  In Indonesia where family structure normally consists of father, mother and their children, very often final word  belongs to the father, even though also influenced by other family members.  This study  review the  influences of each member of the family in several phases : configuration, negotiation and final/outcomes phases.  Working mother and their children has a high correlation impact in configuration phase, while the father comes with only a moderately high correlation in the same phase. It means that he creates lower influence than the other two.  It is recognizable that in this  phase, he gives more chance nad opportunity to his wife and children to speak out their opinions and argumentation as education elements of democratization which requires the freedom to speak. In the final phase, the father’s role has a higher correlation than his spouse and children in making any. The reason behind his greater influence in this phase is that, at the end father feels very responsible for every decision made in a family (family decision making). It is in particular happens in Asian family.

Abstract
 
Indonesia as the world’s largest archipelago possesses a broad range of diverse products including culture, nature, adventure and historical heritages, all on offer at every major destination in Indonesia. In the decentralization era, improved awareness on the importance of self sufficiency has led a real effort of the local governments and the people to develop and promote tourism potentialities. From a tourism view-point, there are still many other potentialities to explore, develop and preserve in the tourism frontier of Indonesia. Therefore, individuals, businesses, and governments must make decisions concerning the best uses of existing resources. Museum as a tourist attraction deserves attention from the tourism industry as well as tourism administrations to be developed in the realization of tourism as a leading sector and foreign exchange earner by 2005.

Abstract
 
Cirebon is a beach town lies next to Java Sea that has substantial tourism prospective. Of several characteristics requisite, the town proofed to be able to fulfil all of them as to be considered an excel-lent tourism destination, particularly in revealing its crucial heritage. Unfortunately, tourism has not been developed to its fullest yet. Rehabilitative and curative actions as well as proper model and strategy have to be planned and done carefully as to reestablish tourism development in Cirebon with its essential elements as to achieve the focal goal: “To Develop a Heritage Tourism Destination with Central Theme of Kota Wali”.  It is expected that as a Moslem atmosphere destination, the town would not be visited only by Moslem but also non Moslem tourists and visitors as to create a Cross-Religion Tourism Area that breaks down language barriers, sociocultural barriers, class barriers, racial, political as well as religious barriers. This sense of UNIVERSALISM is then believed as a strong comparative advantage of the town that will intensify local tourism. This distinctive central theme is also sup-posed to promote the uniqueness of the area which is contrastly different from other areas elsewhere. Its prospect is considered highly competitive in the scope of local, national and international tourism.

PREKOTA: ALTERNATIF PENGELOLAAN PARIWISATA KOTA
BERBASIS LINGKUNGAN DAN BUDAYA,

Abstract

Urban ecotourism program in Karang Tengah, South Jakarta, known as PREKOTA, has come into sight as an alternative ecotourism project dedicated to preserve the last urban forest along side the river of Passanggrahan. The program has incorporated four balancing pillars of ecotourism: (1) environmental responsibil-ity, set to protect and conserve natural resources as well as physi-cal environment in order to pledge the sustainability of ecosystem and the whole span of life; (2) local economic vitality, means to drive the growth and development of  local economy, business and community as to ensure the economic sustainability; (3) cultural sensitivity,  forcing the urge of reservation and  appreciation to-wards cultural diversity and traditional customs as to maintain the existence of local culture. (4) experiental richness;  to enrich and enhance experiential attraction throughout active participation in understanding people and their involvement with nature, other people, place and culture.

Absract
 
To meet the challenges of the globalization and free-trade zones in ASEAN (AFTA), this paper aims to explain why and how higher education institution should be shifted from the conventional approaches towards more strategic and comprehensive approaches in managing the institution. There are several approaches suggested in this paper regarding the improvement of the higher educational output to meet the changing requirements of the tourism human resources in the future. This paper is divided into two parts. In this first part, it is emphasizing the explanation about what changes happening in the tourism sector especially in Indonesia at the moment and what are effects to the higher educational institutions and what strategies should be taken in facing this requirements.

TRAINING IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY:
HOW DO WE IDENTIFY THE TRAINING NEEDS?

Abstract
 
Hospitality industry merupakan industri yang menuntut ketrampilan sumberdaya manusia yang baik.  Tenaga kerja yang berkualitas dapat dicapai dengan pengalaman, dan training yang memenuhi persyaratan kualitas tersebut  Studi ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan, pengetahuan, perilaku yang baik melalui aktifitas pembelajaran.  Terdapat tiga macam training yang dibutuhkan dalam food and lodging operation: orientasi (orientation), instruksi pekerjaan (job instruction), pelatihan ulang (retraining).  Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan training adalah adanya kesenjangan tingkat pendidikan peserta.  Untuk itu diperlukan penyusunan kebutuhan training (training needs) yang dapat mengakomodasi keseluruhan peserta.  Penyusunan training needs yang baik akan mempermudah keseluruhan peserta training dalam mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan.
