Globalisasi dan kemajuan komunikasi telah menyebabkan dunia internasional dipandang sebagai kampung global (global village) tanpa  perbedaan latar belakang budaya yang mengarah pada homogenisasi pandangan, orientasi dan gaya hidup penduduk dunia. Dalam perspektif ini, globalisasi memicu lahirnya identitas “footloose” yang membuat orang untuk berpaling kepada konteks sosial dalam mengekspresikan kebutuhan untuk membentuk identitas yang tidak ambivalen. Identitas transnasional yang terjadi harus disikapi secara bijak oleh pelaku dalam industri pelayanan dan pariwisata agar tidak mengakibatkan ketidakefektifan dalam manajemen. Tujuan studi Manajemen Pelayanan (Service Management) adalah untuk menjalankan perannya sebagai evaluator mengenai efek globalisasi budaya. Ketidakpedulian terhadap isu ini dapat mengakibatkan penyimpangan dalam wawasan kebangsaan.

Abstract
 
Tourism industry has three specific characters: intangible, inseparable, perishable as well as its variability. With its nature characteristic, tourism service industry encounters high risk of occupational health and safety (OHS). Unlike other industry, the risks of OHS are not only being tolerated by operators but also users (tourists). An integrated and holistic management system is needed for a national strategy. The policy should be implemented as an operational guideline, integrated planning and actuating as well as evaluation for a modifying action for most organisations. The system consistency of system is obligatory as to avoid working accident that in turn could have bad impact toward tourism image.

Abstract

Education as a learning process has experienced significant shifts in this modern world. More than ever, the effect of globalization has eliminated boundaries of both nation-hood and state-hood. Cultural pluralism marks the global phenomenon in trans-cultural learning. These cultural encounters developed into intercultural exchange with reciprocal impact. In the context of tourism higher education, the learning process should facilitate student as Indonesia’s future human resources with necessary skill for better anticipation of globalization.

Abstract
 
A conceptual model that incorporates critical thinking, collaborative learning, and  just-in-time (JIT) is presented for use in the hospitality industry. The theory and constructs of the model and a method for application to the industrial training setting are explained. The concepts of the model have relevant application to both industry and academic education opportunities, which are designed using the proposed model, would allow current managers in the industry to update their decision-making, problem solving and communication skills.

Yogyakarta as one of area for tourism in Center Java has a lot of inheritance history full with art and culture values. Those values also influences in society life. Social culture of society was very obedient to the Keraton’s life and very close to the nature reflecting in their city’s lansekap culture can be use as toward to its devel-opment. According to that, there are need for integrity manage-ment to maintain and develop the existing landscape culture as a promising asset for development tourism in special area of Yogya-karta.

In building nature tourism, the use of natural resources by the land of Indonesia is immense. Often the natural resources devel-opment has its impact such as the exploitation of a tourism site. Government with its function as tourism conceptor, user and de-veloper has crucial roles in maintaining, recovering, monitoring and controlling the environment. Therefore, environmental set of laws should make balance between the usages of a tourism site with its protection.

Pariwisata, sebagai suatu industri global, telah memberikan dam-pak yang berbeda kepada lingkungan, budaya dan ekonomi. Sum-ber daya alam yang rentan serta budaya masyarakat setempat mengalami degradasi oleh sebab interaksi  antara wisatawan dan pembangunan yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu konsep menyeluruh tentang pariwisata yang ti-dak merusak alam dan lingkungan, tidak mempengaruhi budaya masyarakat setempat serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat setempat. Ekowisata, diyakini merupakan suatu kon-sep pariwisata yang dapat menjawab keseluruhan tantangan tersebut.
