ANALISIS KEPUASAN TAMU HOTEL BINTANG LIMA DI  JAKARTA

Abstract
 
Accomodation service such as hotel is one of tourism core businesses.  Guests’ satisfaction is a critical issue in recent condition as most hotels are competing fiercely to fulfill satisfactory level of occupancy. This research  aims to determine the relation between service quality and satisfaction level of five star hotel guests in Ja-karta, and factors influencing guests’ perception to five star hotel services. Guest satisfaction level and purpose of stay was analyzed using descriptive method, while factors influencing guests’ perception was analyzed with chi-square. These factors are assurance, empathy, responsiveness, and reliability. Overall, guests’ expecta-tion upon the services is higher than being given by the hotels. Re-sult showed that demographic factors such as: age, education level, and purpose of stay has significant impact on guests’ perception.

Abstract
 
From a subjective point of view, tourism frequently said to cause negative excess to the preservation of culture values. However, in reality, tourism has significant contribution to culture. It was the driving force behind the resurgence of indigenous culture. Kotagede of Yogyakarta is one of many ancient towns that took ad-vantage of its historical culture as tourist object. This writing aims to provide a background view of what makes Kotagede as it is to-day; the richness of culture, the sacred rituals, and the silver arts and crafts.

MEMBANGUN KOMPETENSI BELAJAR DI SEKOLAH TINGGI PARIWISATA

Abstract

 

The development pattern of higher education in Indonesia has brought changes in the way academes vision profesionalism of future human resources. Job market nowadays require good quality human resources not only with knowledge and skill, but also posses certain competency. Competency, defined as “sufficient capability to carry out certain duty” or “having required skill and capability” is in the spotlight. In being competent, a series of learning tools must be directed to achieve the standards. These tools consist of curricula, facilities, academic staff, and the students. Thus, teaching-learning process should promote “the ability to demonstrate knowledge”, as a base for competency building.

Abstract
 
A restaurant's menu is the most important tool influencing the success, or failure, of a food and beverage operation. The trick lies on how should menus be evaluated to determine whether the right food and beverage items figured in the menu are being sold. The application of  “Menu Engineering” can help restaurateur to assign profitable price, potential food cost, price level and sales mix to a menu item.  Basically, menu items can be evaluated in terms of both their popularity and profitability. A popular menu item is sought after and ordered frequently by guests. A profitable menu item generates a higher contribution margin. ”Menu Engineering” is a tool designed to improve managerial effectiveness in pricing, content, design and marketing strategies.

Abstract
 
The term ‘tourism object’ is defined as something that attracts future tourist to visit a certain tourist destination. Cultural heritage dating over 50 years, are man made resources which possess a certain attraction to foreign tourists in particular. It provides a path to the past world of Indonesian history.  Because of its price-less and irrecoverable value, cultural heritage must be preserved and exploited at the same time. Exploitation should consider its beneficiary to the community in terms of ideology, academic, and economic. If presented well, cultural heritage can become a source of inspiration. Stories behind its existence as  told by tourist guides should be based on archeological foundings and research. Thus, actual and accountable.

Coastal area, with its sun, sea and sand, is the most attractive place for tourists to escape from urban activities. Ecologically this place has its own ecosystem that should be conserved. The pres-ence of visitors and tourists may disturb the natural balance. This article proposed several ideas to develop maintenance and balance between conservation and economic factor through tourism in coastal areas.

Abstract
 
Practical experience is an essential component in the education and training of hospitality and tourism professional. Student involvement in practical training or industrial attachment in forms of hands-on approach to learning enables evaluation and implementation of theoretical principles. This type of training involves sending the students to relevant sector of hospitality and. tourism based on their academic program. In an increasingly competitive world, the need for exposing students with "real life" experience is a must. Although proven to be beneficial, the implementation of practical training has its limitations. Problems arise during industrial attachment may cause students to feel discouraged and uncomfortable. Tracing and determining problems used a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with students, who recently underwent training, as respondents. This paper aims to focus on problems frequently encountered by students during external practical training.

Business is the distribution and exchange of all the surplus goods produced in the fields, seas, forests and factories of earth so that it reaches the final consumer in the right place and at the right price. The objective of a business organization is to provide goods and services that are wanted by the community. To achieve this objective, managers in organization use resources at their disposal. One of the most important functions of the manager is orientating the particular objectives of groups of people to those of the whole organization. This requires the manager to sort out the long-range and the short-range objectives of the organization, set priorities and then pool the individual aims of groups of people.

The scenic beauty of Indonesia’s nature and its richness of arts and culture are one of many commodities the nation has as a source of income and revenue. Prolonged economic crises, is a challenge for tourism sector. However, many tourism aspects need to be restructured, especially within the human resource and tour-ism object itself. The latter aspect includes facilities and infra-structure which supports a conducive and comfortable atmosphere for tourists. Thus, with the increase of satisfaction, the number of visitors is hoped to multiply in years to come.
